I am a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Environmental Planning (IUP) at Leibniz University Hannover, where I contribute to the EU Horizon project VALERECO (Valorization Legumes Related Ecosystem Services). I hold a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Alberta, where I was affiliated with Future Energy Systems. My research specializes in non-market valuation, economic experiments, dietary preferences, and environmental regulation. I have applied these methods in academic and policy settings across three continents, both as a researcher and public servant.
I aim to make methodological contributions to understanding the drivers and constraints that influence consumers’ and farmers’ adoption of plant-based alternatives and animal welfare policies. I also focus on advancing stated preference methods in developing countries and evaluate the impact of public policies in natural areas and non-human animals. I have also led the design and implementation of several public preference surveys on topics such as remediation policies, animal welfare labeling, and biodiversity conservation.
